Arkadium was commissioned by 4orty 2wo Entertainment under the direction of Activision to create Last Call Poker (LCP), a poker website that was part of a large Alternate Reality Game (ARG). This new form of entertainment blended real-life treasure hunting, interactive storytelling, and online Texas Hold'em to promote the highly anticipated console game GUN.
Arkadium's cutting-edge Texas hold'em platform, was central to blurring the lines of reality. The robust community features such as the social networking subsystem and private messaging drew visitors into last call hold'em and facilitated the group cooperation required to develop the story.
The partnering of Arkadium's Poker technology and 4orty 2wo Entertainment's expert storytelling proved irresistible. Since launching in early September, Last Call Poker has logged thousands of hours of play. Most importantly - Last Call Poker's press coverage and successful viral marketing campaign made GUN one of the most anticipated games of 2005 and the #1 game on GameFly.
